On the Day


Thursday

The first day of the championships is dedicated to Ridden Qualifying and In-Hand Qualifying Classes.  These Classes are open to all (pre-entry recommended) and are qualifiers for the Championship Classes held over the weekend.  The top three in each class will qualify (unless already qualified) and the qualification will be passed down to 6th place if those placed have already qualified.

The day classes typically start around 11.00 and last until around 4pm.  At 6pm we hold a Fancy Dress Competition, followed by a Show Jumping Clinic and a Showing Clinic in the Main Indoor Arena from 6.30pm.  The day finishes with a quiz night held in the Bar which starts at 8.30pm.

Friday

Friday morning brings the In-Hand Championship Classes, these are open to all qualified competitors (pre-entry only). 

In Ring 3 there will be Show Jumping Qualifying Classes (Open to all, pre-entry recommended) the top three in each class will qualify for Saturday's Championship Classes (unless already qualified) and the qualification will be passed down to 6th place if those placed have already qualified. 

In Ring 3 at approximately 3pm there is a selection of Novelty Classes, pre-entry or enter on the day.

In Ring 5 there is the Working Hunter Qualifying Classes, (Open to all, pre-entry recommended) the top three in each class will qualify for Saturday's Championship Classes (unless already qualified) and the qualification will be passed down to 6th place if those placed have already qualified.

The day classes typically start around 10.00 and last until around 5pm.  The Friday Evening Performance starts at 6.30pm with the In-Hand Concours D'Elegance (Open to all, pre-entry only), followed by the In-hand Championships and finishing with the In-Hand Overall Supreme.

The evening finishes with gymkhana games in the Indoor Arena, free entry, enter on the day in the Show Office.

 

Saturday

Ridden / Show Jumping / Working Hunter Championship Day.  All of these classes are for those who have qualified for the Championship Classes and are pre-entry only.  The day’s events take place across 4 rings – two ridden Championship Rings, one Show Jumping Ring and one Working Hunter Ring.  The Pony Show Jumping Classes will be run with two sections, juniors on ponies and seniors on ponies, with placings awarded in both sections.

The day classes typically start around 10.00 and last until around 5pm.  The Friday Evening Performance starts at 6.30pm with the Ridden Concours D'Elegance (Open to all, pre-entry only), followed by the Ridden Championships and finishing with the Ridden Overall Showing Supreme. 

 

Sunday

 The last day of the championships has both Open and Championship Dressage Classes in Ring One and Two.  Dressage times will be available on our website from 12 noon on Thursday 3rd August.

Entertainment

The championships are firmly rooted in fun and enjoyment. The entertainment includes a Quiz Night, Saturday Evening Disco and Clinics hosted by experts in their fields.

A wide range of food and drinks are available from early morning until late at night.  There’s a fully licensed bar from 12 noon until late and bar food from 6.00pm until 9.30pm.

It’s also a great opportunity to grab some show bargains from the various trade stands.
